Patients help design glove to fight Chemo's numbness & pain
NCT ID NCT06873360
Summary
This study aimed to design a medical device, likely a cooling glove, to prevent nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy) caused by the chemotherapy drug oxaliplatin. Researchers interviewed 50 patients with stomach or colon cancer who experienced this side effect to get their direct input on the glove's design. The goal is to create a comfortable, usable device that patients will wear during treatment to potentially stop the nerve pain and numbness before it starts.
