Taiwanese study hunts for hidden genetic clues in rare GIST tumors
NCT ID NCT04821895
First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at the genetic makeup of a rare type of gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) that does not have the usual c-KIT or PDGFRA mutations. Researchers want to understand what other genetic changes might be driving these tumors in Taiwanese patients. The goal is to find new treatment options for people whose cancer does not respond to standard therapies. About 50 participants will provide tumor samples for genetic testing.
