Scientists probe mysterious gut hormones that could revolutionize diabetes treatment
NCT ID NCT06895408
Summary
This study aimed to understand how two natural gut hormones (GIP and GLP-1) work outside the pancreas to control blood sugar and metabolism. Researchers studied 12 people who had their pancreas surgically removed, giving them these hormones separately and together to measure effects. The goal was to learn why new combination diabetes drugs work better than current treatments.
