First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a person's DNA to guide medication choices can reduce falls and other drug-related problems in older adults who take five or more medicines. About 1,000 people over age 65 who have had a fall will provide a cheek swab for DNA analysis. Half of the doctors will get the DNA results to help them prescribe, while the other half will provide usual care. Participants will be followed for 6 months to track falls, hospital visits, and side effects.
