New surgical stapler tested in Dual-Purpose stomach surgery
NCT ID NCT07344935
Summary
This study tested a two-part stomach surgery for obese patients with severe acid reflux (GERD). The procedure combines a weight loss sleeve surgery with an anti-reflux wrap, using a new type of surgical stapler. Researchers followed 167 patients for two years to see if this approach effectively reduced GERD symptoms and was safe.
