Can a simple exercise program straighten bowed legs?
NCT ID NCT07140796
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 26, 2026
Summary
This study looks at whether a special exercise program, combined with shockwave therapy, can improve leg alignment and foot pressure in adults with genu varum (bowed legs). Fourteen adults aged 20 to 40 will try two approaches: blood flow restriction training alone, and the same training plus shockwave therapy. The goal is to see if these non-invasive treatments can help correct the angle of the legs and how weight is distributed while walking.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Blood flow restriction training and radial shockwave therapy
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a non-invasive way to improve leg alignment and walking patterns in people with bowed legs.
What could go wrong
This is a very small early study with only 14 people, so results may not apply to everyone. The treatments are non-invasive but may not produce lasting changes.
