Warm tube, less blood: study tests gentler nasal intubation

NCT ID NCT03136549

Summary

This study looked at ways to make placing a breathing tube through the nose safer and easier for patients having surgery. Researchers tested whether warming the tube first, combined with a special inflation technique guided by a camera, could reduce nosebleeds and make the tube slide in more smoothly. They compared these methods in 140 adult patients to see which caused less trauma during the procedure.
