New genetic test aims to solve mysteries of childhood epilepsy

NCT ID NCT03652246

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether a detailed genetic test called exome sequencing could help find the cause of severe epilepsy in children when standard tests fail. Researchers enrolled 15 children with unexplained epileptic encephalopathy, a condition causing both seizures and developmental delays. The goal was to see if this advanced genetic analysis could provide answers for families and guide future medical care.
