Summary
This study looks at whether broken heart syndrome (Takotsubo cardiomyopathy) runs in families. Researchers will analyze DNA from 700 people diagnosed with the condition in Scotland to find any genetic links. The goal is to understand why some people develop this heart problem after intense stress, which could help identify at-risk family members.
