Summary
This study looks for a genetic reason why some people get broken heart syndrome (Takotsubo cardiomyopathy), a condition that mimics a heart attack and is often triggered by intense stress. Researchers will analyze DNA from 700 participants, including people diagnosed in Scotland and their family members worldwide. The goal is to find if certain genes increase risk, which could help identify at-risk individuals and their families.
