Scientists hunt for the 'Listeria Gene' in rare, severe cases
NCT ID NCT03357536
Summary
This study aims to find out if some people have a genetic makeup that makes them more likely to get a severe form of listeriosis, a rare but serious foodborne illness. Researchers will analyze DNA from about 100 patients who have had listeriosis, especially younger patients with no other known risk factors. The goal is to identify specific genes that might increase susceptibility, which could help improve future care and prevention.
