First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 29 times
Summary
This study tests a one-time gene therapy called ECUR-506 in baby boys under 9 months old with a severe inherited liver disorder (OTC deficiency) that causes dangerous ammonia buildup. The goal is to see if the treatment is safe and can reduce or eliminate the need for daily medications and special diets. About 20 babies will receive a single IV dose, and researchers will monitor their health and ammonia levels over time.
