Modified stem cells tested as new weapon against spreading kidney cancer

NCT ID NCT06716853

Summary

This early-phase study tested a one-time treatment called Temferon for patients with advanced kidney cancer that had spread and stopped responding to standard therapies. Temferon uses a patient's own modified stem cells, designed to produce a cancer-fighting protein (interferon) directly at the tumor site. The main goals were to check if the treatment was safe and to see if the modified cells could reach and affect the tumors.
