Silence no more: gene therapy aims to cure deafness in kids

Summary

This study tests a new gene therapy called EHT102 for children born with severe hearing loss caused by mutations in the OTOF gene. Up to 30 children will receive a single injection into the ear to deliver a working copy of the gene. The goal is to safely restore hearing to a level where they can hear sounds at normal conversational volume.
