Lung cancer gene therapy trial halted early

NCT ID NCT05062980

First seen Jun 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 17, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This early-stage trial tested a new gene therapy (quaratusugene ozeplasmid) combined with an immunotherapy drug (pembrolizumab) for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer who had already been treated. The goal was to see if the combination was safe and worked better than standard chemotherapy. However, the study was stopped early because not enough people signed up, so only 5 participants were enrolled.
