Gene test could predict best treatment for low sperm count
NCT ID NCT07402759
Summary
This study aims to see if a specific gene mutation can predict which men with low sperm count and poor sperm movement will benefit from taking an L-carnitine supplement. Researchers will test 50 men for a mutation in the TDRD9 gene and then give them L-carnitine for three months. The main goal is to see if men with the mutation see a bigger improvement in their total number of moving sperm compared to men without it.
