Scientists hunt for genetic clues linking gum disease to heart trouble
NCT ID NCT07353606
Summary
This study aims to understand the connection between gum disease and coronary heart disease by looking at specific genes and proteins. Researchers will measure these factors in 84 patients with gum disease, some of whom also have heart disease, before and after they receive a standard deep cleaning treatment. The goal is to see if these genetic markers change with treatment and could help explain why the two conditions are often linked.
