Scientists search for genetic clue behind hair loss condition

NCT ID NCT07454876

Summary

This study aimed to understand if a specific variation in a gene called TLR7 is linked to developing alopecia areata, an autoimmune hair loss condition. Researchers compared the genes of 120 people—some with alopecia and some without—to see if the gene variation was more common in patients. They also checked if having this gene variation was connected to how severe a person's hair loss was.
