Gene test could find right blood thinner to stop second strokes

NCT ID NCT06714526

Summary

This study is testing whether using a genetic test to choose between two blood-thinning medications (clopidogrel or ticagrelor) works better than the standard approach for preventing another stroke. It involves 100 adults who recently had a stroke or mini-stroke caused by narrowed arteries inside the brain. Researchers will compare if the genetic testing approach is practical and safe, and if it leads to fewer new strokes and better recovery over 90 days.
