Filler Face-Off: study probes gene changes in skin
NCT ID NCT05620043
First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 8 times
Summary
This study looked at how two types of facial fillers—a biostimulator and a semi-permanent filler—change gene activity in the skin. Twenty-one adults with shallow smile lines each received both fillers on opposite sides of their face. After 12 weeks, small skin samples were taken to compare genes related to collagen, elastin, and skin health. The goal was to understand the biological effects of each filler, not to treat a disease.
