Scientists probe why vaccines work differently in men, women, and transgender people

NCT ID NCT06832514

Summary

This study aims to understand how biological sex and gender identity affect the body's immune response to a vaccine. Researchers will give a licensed meningitis B vaccine to 250 healthy transgender and cisgender adults and measure their antibody and T-cell levels. The goal is to learn if hormone therapy or other factors lead to different levels of protection from the vaccine.
