New gel fights hidden bacteria in bedsores

Summary
This study is testing whether a special gel can prevent harmful bacterial films from forming in pressure ulcers (bedsores). Researchers will enroll 140 bedridden or wheelchair-using patients over age 65 who have stage 2 or 3 pressure ulcers. They will compare the gel, used alone or with standard dressings, to standard care to see if it helps wounds heal better over four weeks.
