New gel aims to soothe painful mouth wounds after dental surgery

NCT ID NCT05821725

Summary

This study tested whether a gel containing hyaluronic acid could help reduce pain and speed up healing for patients who had a small piece of gum tissue taken from the roof of their mouth for a dental graft procedure. Thirty adults who needed this specific gum surgery participated. Researchers measured the size of the wound and asked patients about their pain levels over six weeks to see if the gel made a difference.
