New gel tested to save failing dental implants

Summary
This study is testing if adding a special gel to a standard cleaning procedure works better for treating a serious infection around dental implants called peri-implantitis. The gel contains natural compounds meant to help healing. Researchers will compare the gel to a placebo in 32 patients over 6 months to see if it reduces pocket depth around the implant, a key sign of the disease.
