Cold soup, hot sperm: gazpacho diet tested for male fertility

NCT ID NCT07375238

First seen Jan 30, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study looks at whether drinking a daily serving of gazpacho, a cold tomato-based soup, can improve semen quality in men with low sperm counts or poor sperm movement. Eighty men will follow a healthy Mediterranean diet for 12 weeks, with half also drinking gazpacho each day. Researchers will measure changes in sperm health and oxidative stress, and follow participants for up to 18 months to see if it leads to successful pregnancies.
