Summary
This study tests if a procedure called gastric preconditioning, done before esophageal cancer surgery, can lower the chance of a dangerous leak where the stomach is reconnected to the esophagus. It is for people at high risk of this leak. The procedure uses a tiny tube to block some blood vessels in the stomach to help it heal better after surgery.
