Doctors investigate hidden stomach paralysis in rare gut disease

NCT ID NCT05229432

Summary

This study aims to find out if eosinophilic gastritis, a condition where too many white blood cells build up in the stomach lining, causes the stomach to empty too slowly. Researchers will observe 30 participants with the condition, using a special scan that tracks a radioactive oatmeal meal to measure stomach emptying speed. They will also check if slower emptying is linked to worse symptoms, more inflammation seen during an endoscopy, or a lower quality of life.
