Summary
This study tested whether a mild, inhaled gas medicine (isoflurane) could help adults with severe COPD flare-ups better tolerate a breathing mask treatment. The goal was to see if the light sedation made patients more comfortable with the mask, potentially helping them avoid needing a breathing tube inserted down their throat. Researchers monitored 10 patients for 24 hours to check comfort, breathing, and safety.
