Sucking out surgery gas cuts pain, study suggests

NCT ID NCT07299656

Summary

This study aims to see if actively sucking out leftover gas from the belly after keyhole gallbladder surgery works better than just pressing on the abdomen to reduce pain. Researchers will compare pain levels in 62 adults getting the surgery, splitting them into two groups that get one of the two gas-removal methods. The goal is to find the best way to help patients recover with less discomfort after this common operation.
