Research aims to spare patients unnecessary tubes after surgery

NCT ID NCT07195643

Summary

This study looked at 559 patients who had gallbladder removal surgery to understand when surgical drains are actually needed. Drains are tubes sometimes placed during surgery to prevent fluid buildup, but they're not always necessary. The research aimed to identify which patients truly benefit from drains so doctors can make better decisions and patients can recover more comfortably.
