NCT ID NCT06659549

First seen Jan 27, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study tests whether daily GAL-101 eye drops can slow the growth of geographic atrophy, a form of advanced age-related macular degeneration that causes blind spots. About 110 adults aged 55 and older with early-stage damage (not yet affecting central vision) will receive either the drug or placebo drops for up to 2 years. The goal is to see if treatment preserves sight by keeping the damage away from the center of the retina.
