Brain scans guide autism treatment trial
NCT ID NCT05063656
Summary
This study tested if the drug gabapentin could improve social skills in teenagers with autism. Researchers used brain scans to measure a specific brain chemical (GABA) before and after an 8-week treatment. They wanted to see if increasing this chemical with medication would lead to measurable improvements in social understanding and interaction.
