New injection tested to heal devastating skin condition
NCT ID NCT02739295
Summary
This study tested whether G-CSF injections could help patients with toxic epidermal necrolysis, a rare but severe skin reaction where large areas of skin peel off. Ten patients were randomly assigned to receive either the G-CSF treatment or a placebo injection for five days. Researchers measured how quickly the skin healed and looked at immune system changes to see if the treatment was effective.
