Can vivid daydreams of the future help you quit smoking?
NCT ID NCT07158749
Summary
This study is testing whether a mental exercise called 'episodic future thinking' can help people quit smoking. Researchers want to see if regularly imagining positive future events (like birthdays) or the potential negative consequences of smoking (like cancer) makes it easier to quit. They will enroll 134 daily smokers who plan to quit and have them practice this thinking technique multiple times a day for eight weeks.
