New drug enters human testing for rare Muscle-Wasting disease

NCT ID NCT06131983

Summary

This early-stage study is testing a new drug called ARO-DUX4 in adults and adolescents with facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy type 1 (FSHD1), a genetic condition that causes progressive muscle weakness. The main goal is to check if the drug is safe and how it behaves in the body. Participants will receive either the drug or a placebo and will undergo muscle biopsies to help researchers understand the drug's effects.
