Summary
This study tested whether adding fructan fiber to the diet helps or worsens symptoms in people with irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D). Researchers compared a fructan supplement against a placebo in 65 participants to see its effects on gut pain, bloating, stool habits, and the bacteria living in the gut.
