First seen Jan 25, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 16 times
Summary
This study compared two surgical methods—frenotomy and frenectomy—for treating a high frenum attachment (a tight band of tissue) in 46 healthy adults. The goal was to see which technique leads to less relapse and less pain after surgery. Participants were randomly assigned to one of the two procedures, and their frenum level was measured before and six months after surgery, with pain scores recorded during the first week.
