NCT ID NCT02606396
First seen Apr 20, 2026 ยท Last updated Apr 20, 2026
Summary
This study tested if freezing tumors inside the esophagus could quickly improve swallowing difficulty for patients with advanced esophageal cancer. Fifteen patients who were already scheduled for a standard endoscopy received the freezing treatment during that same procedure. Researchers then called patients to check if their swallowing improved over the next month, before their planned chemotherapy and radiation began.
