First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study tested whether providing free casual labor to pregnant women and mothers in Malawi helps them grow more food, seek better healthcare, and build stronger social networks. Nearly 1,000 women took part in a randomized trial across several districts. The goal was to see if easing their physical workload improves both farm output and maternal/child health.
