Simple glasses and a little training aim to unlock digital money for elderly poor

NCT ID NCT05510687

Summary

This study is testing whether providing free reading glasses and basic training on how to use a smartphone can help elderly and widowed people in Bangladesh use mobile banking services more easily. The goal is to see if this simple combination helps people access their government cash payments digitally, leading to greater financial independence and improved well-being. The trial involves 571 people who receive government old-age or widow allowances and have age-related blurry close-up vision (presbyopia).
