Quick tests could predict which seniors face surgery complications
NCT ID NCT07367828
Summary
This study aims to find the best quick screening tools to identify frail older adults who are at higher risk for complications after elective surgery. Researchers will test three simple assessments—a short questionnaire, a timed walking test, and a clock-drawing task—on 350 patients aged 70 and older in Iceland. The goal is to see if these easy-to-use tools can reliably predict who might experience problems like hospital readmission, delirium, or longer recovery times after their operation.
