Can a simple Pre-Surgery score predict recovery risks for seniors?

NCT ID NCT07422025

Summary

This study looked back at medical records to see if two quick frailty assessments given before leg surgery could help predict which elderly patients are more likely to have serious complications or die within 90 days after their operation. Researchers analyzed data from 149 patients aged 65 and older who had surgery for things like hip or knee replacements or broken bones. The goal is to find better ways to identify high-risk patients before surgery to improve their care planning.
