AI vs. anesthesiologists: who judges surgery risk better?

NCT ID NCT07399938

First seen Feb 12, 2026 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study looked at how anesthesiologists and artificial intelligence (AI) models classify the physical status of 200 adult patients before elective surgery. Researchers wanted to see if adding a frailty score (a measure of weakness) changed the risk ratings given by humans and AI. The goal is to understand differences in clinical reasoning and improve how we assess surgical risk.
