Blood proteins may reveal broken bone healing problems early

NCT ID NCT05143476

First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 06, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study aimed to find proteins in the blood that could show whether a broken upper arm bone is healing well or might develop a nonunion (failure to heal). Researchers enrolled 45 adults with isolated humerus fractures and tracked their healing over six months. The goal was to create a blood-based test to predict healing problems early, but this was an observational study, not a treatment.
