NCT ID NCT07436481

First seen Mar 03, 2026 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 10 times

Summary

This study tested whether spending time in a forest (forest therapy) could improve symptoms and reduce inflammation in people with psychotic disorders. Eighty adults with psychosis were randomly assigned to either forest therapy sessions plus standard care, or standard care alone. The forest therapy group attended eight sessions over four months. Researchers measured changes in inflammatory markers (CRP, IL-6, BDNF) and used questionnaires to assess psychotic symptoms, mood, anxiety, sleep, and quality of life.
