Foot position tweaks muscle response in Gym-Goers
NCT ID NCT07546851
First seen Apr 24, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 5 times
Summary
This study looked at how turning your feet inward or outward during leg press changes the way your thigh muscle (vastus medialis) contracts. Twenty-four experienced resistance-trained athletes did leg presses with different foot angles. Researchers measured muscle response using electrical stimulation and a device called tensiomyography. The goal was to see if matching foot angle to a person's natural walking pattern improves muscle activation.
