First seen Mar 17, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study gave 154 pregnant Latina women in Hartford a monthly allowance to buy fruits and vegetables for 10 months, plus nutrition education and text reminders. The goal was to see if this "produce prescription" would increase how much produce they bought and ate, and reduce food insecurity. Results showed positive changes in both diet and food security.
