Free meals for recovery: new study tests food aid for opioid patients

Summary

This study looks at whether delivering meals to the home can improve food security for adults who are on medication for opioid use disorder. Forty participants will either get nutrition education alone or education plus weekly meal deliveries for 24 weeks. Researchers will track changes in food security, mental health, and physical health over the study period and for six months after.
