New shot could help people with food allergies eat safely

NCT ID NCT07220811

Summary

This study is testing whether a new long-acting injection called RPT904 can help people with common food allergies (like peanut, milk, or egg) safely eat small amounts of those foods. About 100 participants, aged 12 to 55, will receive either the real injection or a placebo (dummy shot) every 8 or 12 weeks for nearly a year and a half. The main goal is to see if the treatment allows people to consume higher amounts of a food they are allergic to without having a serious allergic reaction during a supervised food challenge.
