Do steroids help Kids' food allergies? new study tests emergency treatments

NCT ID NCT07341776

Summary

This study aims to find out if adding steroids to standard emergency medications helps children recover faster from severe food allergy reactions. During scheduled food allergy tests at clinics, 160 children with food allergies will be randomly assigned to receive either standard antihistamines or antihistamines plus steroids if they have a reaction. Doctors will closely monitor how quickly symptoms resolve to determine which treatment approach works better.
